Direct vs Indirect Speech: Tutorial 'Spill The Tea' yang Valid
Pernah gak sih kamu mau nyampain omongan temen ke orang lain? Misal: "Eh, kata si Doi dia sayang sama aku."
Nah, dalam bahasa Inggris, ini disebut Reported Speech (Indirect Speech). Tapi hati-hati, Bestie! Kamu gak bisa asal tempel kata-katanya. Ada aturan mainnya biar ceritamu akurat secara waktu dan grammar.
1. Apa Bedanya? (The Concept)
Bayangin perbedaannya kayak "Screenshot Chat" vs "Nyritain Ulang".

2. Aturan Emas: Konsep "Mundur Satu Langkah" (Backshift)
Ini bagian paling tricky tapi penting. Karena omongannya sudah lewat (basi), Tenses-nya harus kita "mundurin" satu langkah ke masa lalu (Past).

Selain Tenses, kamu juga harus peka sama perubahan Pronoun (Kata Ganti Orang) dan Keterangan Waktu. Pake logika aja: Kan yang ngomong bukan kamu, dan waktunya udah beda.

4. Tips Anti Bingung
⚠️ Kapan Gak Perlu Mundur Tense?
Ada pengecualian, Bestie. Kalau kamu nyritain fakta umum yang masih valid sampai sekarang, tenses-nya gak usah diubah.
- Direct: "The sun rises in the East."
- Indirect: He said that the sun rises in the East. (Matahari masih terbit di timur kan? Jadi tetep Present).
Tips "Say" vs "Tell":
- He said that... (Tanpa objek orang).
- He told me that... (Wajib ada objek orangnya).

Ubah kalimat langsung ini menjadi kalimat tidak langsung (Indirect):
- John said, "I am tired."
→ John said that he _____ tired.
- Sarah said, "I will call you tomorrow."
→ Sarah said that she _____ call me the next day.

→ They said that they _____ playing football.
- Mom said, "I have cooked dinner."

6. Kunci Jawaban
Cek jawaban kamu:
- Was (Mundur: Am → Was).
- Would (Mundur: Will → Would).
- Were (Mundur: Are → Were).
- Had (Mundur: Have → Had).
- That (Berubah: This → That).
